Japanese entertainment company Avex said it will release a series of educational DVDs entitled “Learning Korean through Songs” featuring 25 music videos of hit K-pop songs.
The songs include TVXQ’s 2004 hit “Hug,” Ahn Jae-wook’s “Friend,” Lee Byeng-hun’s “Tears,” BoA’s “No.1″ and SG WannaBe’s “In Life.”
In August, another DVD will be released featuring more hit songs including Shinhwa’s “Deep Sorrow,” Lee Dong-gun’s “Hoping that My Wind Touches That Sky,” Fly to the Sky’s “Missing You,” Brown Eyes’ “Already a Year” and SG WannaBe’s “Crime and Punishment.”
Shinhwa member Kim Dong Wan was rushed to the ER on the 11th due to a tummy ache. Kim Dong Wan was recording for his 2nd album in Kang Nam, Seoul, when he suddenly had extreme stomach pains. Upon arriving at the hospital and being examined, the doctors determined it was acute gastroenteritis, a stomach infection which is actually a bit more serious than a tummy ache.
It is unknown whether or not Kim Dong Wan will still debut on the 24th with his 2nd album.
Acute gastroenteritis will usually cause acute diarrhea, which is not a very pleasant thought. Dong Wan will be spending the next 3-4 days pissing out of his ass, while receiving treatment. Following the treatment, Dong Wan should be back to health in no time, however his scheduled debut plans may end up down the drain along with his Hershey squirts.
Prior to the release of the album, Shinhwa spent 2 days in Jejudo on 3 & 4 March for the album shoot, with Korea’s top photographer Jo Seon Hee personally working on the photoshoot with Shinhwa. Jo Seon Hee previously worked with Rain, Wonder Girls, Lee Hyori for their album shoots, and also worked with Jang Dong Gun, Jo In Sung, Song Hye Gyo on CFs and print advertisements.
The special thing about the shoot is that through this shoot, Jo Seon Hee has clearly brought out the active sides of the 6 Shinhwa members, and their unique masculine charisma.
In addition, to commemorate their 10th anniversary, there will be a series of special fragrances, character figures, teddy bears and other merchandise available on sale.
With regards to this, a GoodEMG spokesperson said “It has been 10 years since Shinhwa’s debut, and is the only group to not have any change of members. The release of the 9th album and the 10th anniversary concert will be a very meaningful event to Shinhwa and their fans. We hope that the fans will show their support for Shinhwa’s 9th album and commemorative merchandise.”
The music video for Shinhwa’s title track will be shot on 18 & 19 March, and according to sources, the video will be very spectacular, similar to that of movie scenes.
What do these two vocally talented and good looking groups, SHINWA and TOHOSHIKI, have in common besides a large fan base and (was once) being produced by SM Entertainment? Both big time groups are performing at famous stadiums in Japan, the largest being Budokan, where all the big ballers perform.
Tohoshinki’s tour (beginning on May 5, 2008) has already made quite a stir because of their supposed ‘one second’ 40,000 ticket sell out. On the other hand veterans Kim Dong Wan and Eric will perform in Japan with their band mates from Shinhwa prior to heading off for their mandatory military service. Shinhwa will hold concerts for two days (April 18 and 19) in Japan – the two have promised to give their Japanese fans the best performance of their careers.
