Tenth anniversary countdown live DVD release from Ayumi Hamasaki includes footage of her New Year’s 2007-2008 performance at the National Yoyogi Kyogiba Daiichi Taiikukan. Performing in front of nearly 12,000 fans, Ayumi sings for the first time tracks like “Sotsugyo Shashin (Graduation Photograph),” “Together When . . .” and “untitled -for her-” off of Ayumi’s latest “GUILTY” album on the way to her final track “RAINBOW” and this year’s glorious countdown. This year’s concert an oustanding set with the main stage and three additional special stages as well as six different costume changes. In addition to the main performance, DVD also includes making-of footage and more..
It’s official, Ayumi Hamasaki has surpassed all other Asian female solo artists–having the most singles sold over the course of her career. The record was set after her latest single “Blue Bird” entered the Oricon music charts at No. 1, selling just over 180,000 copies at the time of this writing. With the single in Oricon’s top spot, Ayumi will be breaking another record as well, having more No. 1 singles than any Japanese female in history. She’s still in the early stages of her career, so these records will be quite interesting to watch in the coming years.
I was really waiting for this info to come out! And I’m excited ^^;

Japanese pop princess Ayumi Hamasaki has revealed she has gone deaf in her left ear, but has vowed to continue her JPop career and go ahead with an upcoming tour of Asia.
The 29-year old, who is Japan’s top-selling singer with 28 number-one hits and nearly 50 million albums sold, wrote on her personal blog that her left ear “doesn’t work anymore” and that it was inoperable.
Hamasaki, better known as “Ayu” to her huge following of JPop fans in Japan and the rest of Asia, is believed to be suffering tinnitus, which involves a ringing in the ear that can be caused by constant exposure to sound.
‘Continue singing’
“Nevertheless, I would like to continue as a singer. That’s why I would like to continue singing until I reach the limit with my remaining right ear,” she wrote on her members-only fansite.
“I won’t stop. I won’t make excuses. As a professional, I would like to deliver the best performance for everyone.”
Ayumi is due to launch her second tour of Asia in April to mark her 10th anniversary as a performer.
She released her ninth album, Guilty, on 1 jan 2008
